Laurie Ann Wheadon, 43, of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Parkview Hospital Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne. Born on November 28, 1969 Laurie was the precious daughter of W. Ronald and Susan Diane Smith Wheadon. Growing up in Rochester, Laurie was a proud graduate of Rochester High School in 1988. Known for her extraordinary culinary skills, Laurie is best remembered for her delightful chili and her delectable lemon meringue and mixed berry pies. She was the proud owner of a unique collection of Indian trinkets and Harley - Davidson memorabilia. Paramount in her life was her son Wade Garrett, as she dearly cherished the time she spent with him. Laurie is lovingly remembered by her son Wade Garrett Wheadon at home; her mother Susan Diane Wheadon; her father W. Ronald Wheadon and wife Bridget; 2 brothers: James Ronald Wheadon, all of Rochester, Paul E. Wheadon North Hollywood, CA; a sister Goldia C. Wheadon of Ft. Wayne; maternal grandmother Carolyn Sue Smith; paternal grandparents Wilbur O. and Joretta Wheadon, all of Rochester; a niece Cree S. Wheadon; and a great nephew Isaiah Wheadon. Several aunts and uncles also survive along with her 2 cherished canine companions fawn and brindle boxers Blade and Buffy, and a feline friend, the Siamese named Sushi. A sunset gathering of friends and family reminiscing and remembering the good times will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 on Wednesday evening May 1st, at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester. Burial will take place at a later date at the Kewanna Citizen's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the education fund of Laurie's son Wade Garrett Wheadon.
