Obituary

Kristine K. Lemler Duff, 55, of Bourbon passed away at 6:04 p.m. on September 21, 2012, at the St. Joseph Medical Center, Mishawaka. Kristine was born on January 13, 1957, in Kosciusko county, the precious daughter of Joe and Carol Geib Lemler. As one of five children Kris enjoyed growing up with a brother Michael, and 3 sisters: Susan, Donna and Nancy. In 1975, with great Trojan pride, Kris graduated from Triton High School. During her youth Kris was actively involved with the Rural Youth Organization, holding Marshall County offices of president and secretary. At the state level she was elected to secretary and vice-president. It was with the R.Y.O. thru the Indiana Farm Bureau that she met her future husband. Kris also was a ten year member of Marshall County 4 - H, participating as a Junior Leader for four years. She was accomplished with handiwork crafts of crocheting, knitting and needlepoint, entering a variety of projects over the years at the county and state fair. On July 1st, 1989, Kristine wed her best friend and the love of her life Mr. Steven Edward Duff Jr. at the Bourbon United Methodist Church. Together they enjoyed life's adventures for the next 23 years. To relax she enjoyed line dancing and was a keen competitor playing all types of card games. She especially enjoyed euchre on Thursday evenings and played match-it at Bourbon's Senior Center. She and Steve enjoyed dining out at area eateries. Kris dearly treasured the time she spent with family and friends. She had a great fondness of her canine and feline friends. Kris was a loyal member of the Bourbon United Methodist Church. Many will remember her as one of the friendly associates at the Plymouth Wal-Mart Supercenter. Kris is lovingly remembered by her husband Steve at home; her mother Carol Lemler of Bourbon; a brother Michael Joe Lemler and wife Carolyn of Fruit Port, MI; 3 sisters: Susan Houin of Plymouth, Donna Feldman and husband Steve of Bourbon, Nancy Bricker of Union, MI; her mother-in-law Donna Good of Rochester; her father-in-law Steve Duff Sr. of Rochester; favorite aunt and special friend Cindy Harper of Rochester; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death are her father Joe in 1974, a brother-in-law Earl Houin, and Captain, her loyal Blonde Cocker Spaniel. Pastor Jim Toole will officiate services. A dinner hosted at the home of Cindy Harper, 521 West 4th Street, Rochester will be held immediately following Kristine's Celebration of Life service. Friends and family are invited to share the fellowship and food, remembering the good times and sharing memories. Everyone is welcome!
