Kim Marie Minix

Apr 3, 1959 — May 21, 2026

Kim Marie Minix, 67, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving daughters after a courageous 15-month battle with lung cancer.

Born on April 3, 1959, in South Bend, Kim was the daughter of Edward Charles Lewis and Joan A. (Conklin) Lewis. She graduated from Riley High School in 1976.

Kim was a devoted mother whose greatest joy in life was her family.

For many years, Kim dedicated herself to being a homemaker and caring for her children. Once her children had graduated, she began working at Indiana Carton Company, where she remained until her retirement in 2023.

Kim found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gardening, crafting, and making handmade blankets for her family. She was also a passionate supporter of her daughters’ sporting events, spending countless hours coaching, cheering from the sidelines, and encouraging them in all they pursued.

Kim will be remembered for her strength, unconditional love, creativity, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Left to cherish Kim's memory are the father of her children, David Minix; daughters: Abigail Minix; Samantha (Dustin) Black; Ashley (Colt) Meadows, all of Rochester; 15 grandchildren: Tyson (Kimberly) Minix, Jordan Minix, Blake (Lisa) Minix, Brady Minix, Ava Minix, Mason Minix, Macaya (Efrain) Hernandez, Molly Himes, Jaciana Swope, Colton Black, Camdyn Black, Sophia Black, London Black, Carter and Corbyn Meadows; two great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Dolores Minix; and her beloved dog, Maisey – a black and white Maltese.

Preceding Kim in death are her parents; son, Daryl H. Minix (2017); brother, Jeffrey Lewis (2024); and father-in-law, Herbert C. Minix (2018).
