Obituary

Kenneth A. Medeiros,  76,  of Rochester  passed away at Miller's Merry Manor of Logansport on August 26 , 2016.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on September 15 , 1939, Kenny was the treasured son of Kenneth Alfred and Margaret Gonsalves Medeiros.  Growing up he shared his childhood with two sisters, Mildred and Marlene.  With great pride he graduated from Kaimuki High School in 1958.   Then patriotism beckoned and Kenny answered the call serving our country with the United States Army.
In Rochester, on September 15 , 1991  Ken married the love of his life, Christine "Chris" Alldaffer.  Together they shared nearly 25 years of life's adventures.  With a love to explore, together they traveled to Arizona, California and Hawaii.  In Hawaii and California they enjoyed deep sea fishing expeditions.    About eight years ago they returned to Hawaii for Ken's 50th class reunion.
As a truck driving professional, Kenny drove for Beacon Moving Transport.  Moving to Rochester, he then drove for the City Dray.  He concluded his career with Winamac Coil and Spring, retiring a number of years ago.
Known by his best friends as "Pineapple" Ken was an avid follower for the USC football team where one of his nephews once played.  He and Chris enjoyed stock car racing and traveled to the Plymouth Speedway and Winamac's Shady Hill to observe the action on the fast tracks. Sunday afternoons brought on the NASCAR circuits.  Relaxing in his  recliner Ken cheered for Tony Stewart  and Ryan Newman.
With his passion for cards and being with friends, Ken enjoyed being seated at the euchre table, chatting with friends, while solving the world's problems.  His memberships and weekly routine included  card games at Rochester's Eagles Lodge, American Legion, Senior Center,  the Warsaw,  Moose and the VFW in Winamac.
An active member at the Senior Center, Kenny was always seated at the euchre table or ready for bingo.  He participated in the annual Senior Games and garnered many medallions.   He specialized in the walking events, euchre and was amazing with his accuracy pitching horseshoes.
Left to cherish Ken's memory are his wife, Christine  "Chris", at home; a daughter, Jennifer Miles  of Rochester; two sons:  Donnie Alldaffer and companion Joan Jackson of Columbia City, and Michael Brown and wife Amy of Rochester;  eleven grandchildren:  Cash, Mark, Toby, Kaylyn, Brittney, Sabrina, Tyler, KC, Christian, Calin, Alonna; five Great-grandchildren:  Marlee, Coral, Harper, Little KC, and Anastasia; two sisters: Mildred Jarrett and husband James K. of Prescott, AZ, amd Marlene Kuehne and husband Herbert of Orange, CA; two sisters-in-law:  Linda Susan Kaiser and husband Doug of Battlecreek, MI, and Alison Borgert of Bryan, OH; two brothers-in-law: Brent Alldaffer and wife Nancy, and James Alldaffer and wife Mary, all of Rochester.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  Preceding Kenny in death are his parents.

Pastor Thad Stewart will officiate services.   Military honors will be accorded by the Fulton County Veteran's Honor Guard and the United States Army Honor's Team.
