Kathleen Mcclellan
Flook
Sep 5, 1968 — May 10, 2025
Kathleen McClellan Flook, 56 of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at the 4:00 hour in the morning on Monday, May 19, 2025 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. This followed a valiant and brave battle with cancer.
On September 5, 1968, Kathleen was born in Rochester to Roy E. and Joan C. Carpenter McClellan. Growing up she shared her childhood with two brothers, Keith and Kevin. During her formative years she was a 10-year Fulton County 4-H member. Some of her projects included hogs and chickens. She often did well in the meat pens and egg producers.
Kathleen was a vibrant member of the Future Homemakers of America. A stellar athlete, she held the RHS Lady Zebras shot-put record for more than two decades until it was broken in 2006. Proudly she graduated from Rochester High School with the Class of 1986. She continued her education at Ivy Tech earning an associates degree.
Kathleen and Robert Carl Flook were married on July 1, 1989, in Rochester. They shared 36 years of life's adventures. From their union came a daughter and two sons. They were blessed with another branch to the family tree with the blessings of four grandchildren, with another due to arrive in July.
Accomplished with culinary skills and baking, Kathleen created specially decorated cakes for all occasions from birthdays to anniversaries and graduations. She was into competitive baking for 4-H annually. The Dallas Cowboys were her favorite NFL team. Kathleen was a NASCAR racing fan, with driver Tony Stewart driving # 20 and then completing his driving career in car # 14, as her favorite driver who she once met. She also liked to keep an eye on Garfield and was a proud owner of a unique collection.
As a homemaker, Kathleen cherished the time with her family. She and Rob took the kids on many fishing trips to no-wake lakes in Pure Michigan. Being a grandma and creating memories with the littles was the very best of times. The holidays and special family celebrations were events she treasured.
Left to cherish Kathleen's memory are her husband, Rob; daughter, Jichaela Lee and husband Jared; two sons: Jeremy R. Flook and wife Penny, Jacob R. Flook and wife Samantha; mother, Joan McClellan all of Rochester; four grandchildren: Josephine M. Flook, Rownan C. Flook, Gunner Roy Ryan Lee, Hunter Robert Lee and an expected arrival in July of 2025 Elsie Flook; two brothers: Keith McClellan and wife Dawn of Tiosa, Kevin McClellan and wife Angela of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her in-laws: Mitzi (Andy) Anderson, Gary (Linda) Flook, Valerie Tolley, Karen (Don) Huffman, Debbie (Heshey) Bock, Tammy (Joe) Newlin, Susie (Brett) Simonson and Donna (Tom) Waite.
