Mrs. June VonDerheide, 92, of 1729 Wabash Ave., Rochester, passed away at 4:00 PM, on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Blair Ridge Health Campus of Peru. June was born in Chicago, IL, on June 8, 1919 to Albert and Anna Rabe Hentschel. Growing up as one of three children she shared her childhood with a brother and sister. June was the loving wife of Melvin T. VonDerheide. Together June and Melvin enjoyed many adventures in St. Louis, where they called home most of their lifetime. Nearly eight years ago they moved to Rochester to be closer to their family. With great appreciation of music, they enjoyed going to the dance clubs, the summer concerts of the St. Louis Philharmonic and annually had season tickets for the municipal opera outdoor summer series. June was always a loyal fan of the boys of the summer, the St. Louis Cardinals. June is lovingly remembered by 2 sons: Gary VonDerheide & wife Pat of Peru, and James VonDerheide & wife Lisa of LaCanada, CA; 4 grandchildren: Tyler VonDerheide and wife Melissa of Chicago, Derek VonDerheide of Peru, Evan VonDerheide and wife Katie of Plano, TX, and Kendra Fogg & husband Chris of Westford, Mass.; and a great grandson Matthew Fogg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin on December 11, 2005 and a brother. A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. June VonDerheide will be held at St. Louis. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, MO.
