Obituary


Glenna June Miller, 92, former Rochester resident, passed away at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 21 , 2021 at Creekside Village of Mishawaka.

On January 11 , 1929, Glenna June Becker was born in Fairbury, IL to Edward C. and Hazel Freed Becker.  As a preschooler, June and her family moved from Illinois. She resided in Fulton County for most of her life.  Growing up she shared her childhood with her older brother Elwyn.  June graduated from Rochester High School in 1946.

A gifted seamstress, June worked at Hart-Schaffner & Marx for a number of years and later retired. As an avid volunteer, she helped at the Resource Center and Woodlawn Hospital. She also served as a girl scout leader of Troop # 219. June was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, the Rebecca Lodge and the Fulton County Extension Homemakers. June crocheted gifts of warmth for her family and special friends.  Sewing was her forte' so she made clothing for herself and her daughter plus unique custom clothing for "Barbie dolls."   She was the proud owner of a special collection of zebras, angels and  Boyd Bears.

Left to cherish June's memory are her daughter, Janine O' Keefe of Mishawaka; grandson, Timothy Jason "TJ" O'Keefe of Columbus, OH; granddaughter, Heather O'Keefe Mawson of Mishawaka; two great-granddaughters: Bethany and Brianna; four nieces: Penny Becker Conover, Linda Becker Freels, Carol Miller Bibler, and Barbara Miller Hittle.

Preceding June in death are were her parents, brother Elwyn Becker and his wife Mary Powell,  son-in-law Timothy L. O'Keefe and beloved canine companion Fergie the Doxie-Sheltie custom blend.

A celebration of the life  for beloved June will be on her 93rd birthday, January 11 , 2022 at 2:00 PM on Tuesday , January 11 , 2022  in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester, Indiana.    Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
