Obituary

Mrs. June M. Howe, 76, of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 2:35 AM, Thursday, June 28 , 2018 at Center for Hospice of Elkhart, following a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.
In Rochester, on September 15 , 1941, June Marie Enyart was born to Raymond and Ruth (Meek) Enyart. Growing up in a happy Christian home, she shared her childhood with a younger sister, Sharon.  June graduated from Rochester High School in 1959.
On December 26 , 1965 in Rochester, June and David E. Howe were  married while David was home on leave from the Army.  From their marriage came two wonderful children, Cheryl and Doug, and son-in-law Mike Cholewczynski was welcomed to the family a few years ago.  In recent years, June enjoyed a special closeness with sister Sharon and her husband Dohn Herington.
With a love for her community and a dedicated work ethic June began working for Louderback Chevy-Buick as their bookkeeper shortly after graduating from high school.  She started working for her uncle Emerson at Enyart Motor Sales in 1970, and continued working for him at Enyart's True Value until her retirement in early 2018.
A devoted member of the Church of the Nazarene, June served her church in a variety of ways .  She played the organ for the services and accompanied the choir.  June taught Sunday school classes for adults, and was the missions treasurer.
June enjoyed b ei ng outdoors (except during the winter), and had a special affection for  sunrises, sunsets and rainbows.  She loved the shows at Blue Gate in Shipshewanna, shopping at the Gaither Resource Center in Alexandria, and traveling some on Route 66. To relax she listened to southern gospel or easy listening music.  An avid reader, June's favorite genre was Christian fiction.  She also enjoyed the challenges of jigsaw puzzles and word- searches .  Paramount in her life was family, and June treasured the times they spent together during the holidays and special family celebrations.
Left to cherish June's memory are her husband, David; a daughter, Cheryl Cholewczynski and husband Mike of Chicago; a son, Doug Howe of Rockford, IL; a sister, Sharon Herington and husband Dohn of Mundelein, IL; mother-in-law Jewel Howe; brothers and sisters-in-law: Janet Howe, Don and Jane Howe, Larry Howe, Steve and Melissa Howe all of Ft. Wayne and Carolyn Clinger of Rochester;  many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceding June in death are her parents, Raymond and Ruth Enyart, and father-in-law Reverend Harvey Howe .

Rev. Don Meyer will officiate services.  Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.
