J.T. Jones, 33, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 10:58 PM on January 19, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Ft. Wayne.

On August 9, 1990, Jeffrey Thomas "J.T." Jones was born in Franklin, Indiana.  Growing up he shared his childhood with two sisters, Tabby and Kirsten, and two brothers,  Johnathan and Austin.  At about age 13 his family moved to Rochester.  J.T. was a proud member of the Rochester High School Class of 2008.

With a strong work ethic and gifted with his hands J.T. worked at The Tire Store as a mechanic who could repair anything. To relax he enjoyed cranking up the jams, listening to music of all genres. His passion for engines became one of his favorite past times.  At home in the garage, he could be found tinkering and fine-tuning engines.  He was blessed with other specialty skills around the house like laying flooring and improving his home.  J.T. was a grill master!  His steak and burgers were juicy and always grilled to perfection. A delicious side also grilled was his famous cheesy potatoes.  The heat of the summer brought on many trips floating the Tippecanoe River, making memories and staying cool.

Left to cherish J.T.'s memory are his mother, Cassandra Jones and wife Char Carrico-Jones of Winamac; a son, Kyler Braxton Lane Smith and his mother Crystal Smith of Rochester;  two brothers: Johnathan Carrico and Austin Carrico both of Winamac; a sister, Tabitha Simpson of Decatur, IL; lifelong friend Mitchell Townsend; three brothers by choice: Coty Roe, Colt Meadows and Cory Meadows; special friend Amanda Crispen Barnes; and his treasured canine companion Athena, the Boxer - Pit Bull custom blend.

Preceding J. T. in death is his sister Kirsten Marie Taylor on August 10, 2009.

A celebration of the life of J.T. Jones will be held at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester, IN  Friends may visit with his family from 4:30 until this time of his service.  Online expressions of sympathy may be made to his family at www.goodfamilyfh.com
