Joyce  M. Brooks, 56, of Rochester,  was surrounded by her loving family when passed away at 9:16 AM, Wednesday, August 28 , 2019 at her home.  This followed a valiant 30 year battle with sarcoidosis.

On March 8 , 1963, Joyce Marie Triplett was born in Chicago.  She was a precious daughter of  Murphy and Nancy Howell Triplett.  As one of the eight children, growing up Joyce shared her childhood with two sisters and five brothers.  She graduated from Thorp High School in Chicago.

Joyce married Darnel Palmer.   After several years he sadly passed away.  Later she married Stanley A. Brooks.  He passed away after several years of marriage.

With a love of the outdoors, Joyce enjoyed planting flowers to add color to the landscape of her yard.  She also was an avid reader --enjoying a variety of genre.  She also loved the challenges of crossword puzzles and Sudoku.

Left to cherish  Joyce's memory are her mother, Nancy Thomas and husband Grover of Rochester; two sisters: Deborah Lymas of Joliet, IL, Corice Wright of Chicago, IL; five brothers: Murphy Triplett and girlfriend Theresa of Joliet, IL, Darryl Triplett and wife Alicia of Menifee, CA, Jeffery Triplett and wife Ann, of Romeoville, IL, Tommy Wright of Stone Park, IL, Darrick Wright of Chicago; four children: Elvin Holloway of Joliet, IL, Nancy Palmer-Jackson and husband Gavin of Gary, IL, Theresa Palmer-Chubb and husband Brian of East Chicago, and Tattiana Palmer of Merrillville

A celebration of the life of  Joyce Marie  Brooks will be at 11:00 AM  on Sunday, September 8 , 2019 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18 ^th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
