Mrs. Joanna R. Reyes, 89, of Rochester passed away at 9:35 AM, Tuesday, August 19th, at her residence. On October 12, 1924, Joanna was born in Rochester to Joseph and Mabel Iverson Ault. As one of seven children, she shared her childhood with three sisters and three brothers. She was a graduate of Rochester High School. Answering the call of patriotism, Joanna served with the US Navy from 1944-1946. She was honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class. Joanna and Trinidad Reyes started the ride of their lives together on a street car as they traveled to Laguna Beach to be married on June 21, 1946. Their union produced 2 sons - James, who passed away at the age of 25 due to leukemia, and David, who was born into heaven. While living in California for 40 years, Joanna was the assistant manager of the Bank of America in Lakewood. To relax she enjoyed puzzle books including sudoku and word searches. Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy were her favorite game shows, but she always enjoyed watching the great American pastime of baseball. Their home was decorated with a collection of Norman Rockwell plates and bird figurines. Left to cherish Joanna's memories are her husband Trinidad; a sister, Rosemary Davidson of Leiters Ford; several nieces and nephews, including her care givers Cozetta and Richard Piper of Rochester. Preceding Joanna in death are her parents; 2 sisters: June Hartman, Louise Teel; and 3 brothers: Dean, Dale and Joe Ault. Chaplain Jason See will officiate services. Military rites will be conducted by the Fulton County Honor Guard and the US Navy Honor Guard.
