JoAnn Harris, 57, 2411 Waterview Drive, was surrounded by her loving family when she peacefully passed away Monday at her home. She has joined many family and friends at the big reunion in our heaven. JoAnn was born in Rochester, on June 12, 1953. Her parents are Doris A. and Norman R. Warner. As a twin with sister June, she shared her life with sisters Tinna, Stephani, Vicki and brother Tom. As a collector of fine things, JoAnn was the proud owner of many Indian figurines. She was especially proud of her gnomes, which many of them were strategically located outside to protect her home. As a grandma, her grandchildren Maci and Preston were the light of her life. They shared many good times together. Preston, already four years old, enjoyed taking pictures of "Grammy," as he called her. They played Frisbee and put together puzzles, even complicated ones of 700 plus pieces. Grammy always challenged Preston to see who could find the next piece. Preston and Grammy enjoyed dancing their funny dances together, especially to the "hillbilly song," which he often requested. Playing tag was also a favorite game the two shared; they would chase each other all around the living room and Preston would laugh as he avoided her by running around the coffee table. To relax, JoAnn enjoyed listening to the classic music of Pink Floyd, Joe Cocker, and Bob Dylan as well as many others. Great meaning was found in each song she loved and she had a story to go along with each one. To JoAnn there was nothing like kicking back and having a few while enjoying her tunes. JoAnn will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lynn Miller, Rochester; son Keith Harris Jr. and fiance Danielle Rose, Silver Lake; parents Norman and Doris Warner, Rochester; four sisters, her twin June Chalk, Rochester, Tinna Losee, Mission, Texas, Stephani Warner, Indianapolis, and Vicki Corbett and husband Sterling, Draper, Utah; her brother Tom Chalk and wife Rita, South Whitley; two grandchildren, Preston and Maci Harris; and many nieces and nephews also survive. A celebration of the life of JoAnn Harris is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Casual dress as JoAnn would have preferred.
