Obituary

J.D. McClane Jr., 73, of Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord on March 1 , 2018.  He was born February 17 , 1945 in Winnsboro, Louisiana to J.D. and Della McClane who proceeded him in death.  J.D. was one of nine children: Otis (Cody) McClane, Mary Thomas, Shelia (Shelly) Brooks, Juanita (Nita) Cross, Rose Hale, Corrine (Charles) Hart and Loretta (Retta) McClane.  Also proceeding him in death is his lovely sister Dorothy Alexander.  J.D. worked in the Industrial/Construction field for many years and was self-employed throughout the remainder of his life. He was a hard worker and tried to instill in the younger generation the fundamentals of life.  Some things that he always said was: "Work for yourself and get it in writing"; "Make sure you buy property"; "Hard work will not kill nobody". To friends he would say : "Know your strengths and weakness, as well as to be aware of your enemy's strengths and weakness".

J.D.'s hobbies were welding, camping, fishing, riding his motorcycle, traveling, spending time with his loved ones and enjoying his life to the fullest.  His family and friends are most grateful for the opportunities and life lessons that he has taught everyone over the years.  He leaves behind his devoted partner of 36 years Claudette Roberts of Kokomo,  his loving children:  Diane (Mike) Watts of South Bend, Anna (Norman) McClane of Indianapolis, Pierre (Danielle) McClane of  LaPorte, Theresa Young of Logansport and Tyrone Young of Logansport.  J.D. also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren which he had a very special bond with them all.  He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and leaves behind step children that held a special place in his heart:  Jerry Mitchell, Lisa Mitchell, Anthony Mitchell, Raymond Mitchell, Ronald Mitchell and Jessica Cobb.

Funeral Services for J.D will be at 1:00 PM EST, Saturday, March 10 , 2018 in the  Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester, Indiana 46975. Visitation is two hours prior to the service.   Repass to follow will be held at the 4H Fair Grounds 1009 West 3rd St.,  Rochester, Indiana 46975.
