Former Rochester resident, Jane J. Tyler, 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in Appleton, WI.

On April 4, 1940, Jane was born in Vandergrift, PA.  Answering the call of patriotism, she served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1962. While in the Army, Jane was a med lab technician and taught first aid and CPR. She made Fulton County her home in 1966 moving from Germany.

Jane attended the Allegany General Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburg, PA and the Kokomo School of Nursing in Kokomo. IN.

With a servant's heart and compassion for others, Jane was a Respiratory Care Practitioner and had worked at local hospitals and nursing homes. She earned the distinction of Licensed Practical Nurse in 1978.  As an EMT, she served Fulton County when the EMS initially started. Her memberships include Richland Center United Methodist Church and the Rebekah's.  As a homemaker, she cherished time with her family. She could often be found reading a good book or crocheting.

Jane and Jeffrey M. Tyler were married on April 3, 1987, in Rochester. They shared 20 years of life's adventures. Sadly, he passed away on May 9, 2007.

Left to cherish Jane's memory are three daughters: Elizabeth Anne Kuhn and husband James Lee of Rochester, Kathleen Mary Schlemmer and husband Butch of South Dakota, Patricia Diane Evans and husband John of Appleton, WI; one son, John Stockberger of Monterey; five step-daughters: Elizabeth Ray Justice of Etna Green, Amy Tyler of Pueblo, CO, Lisa Blair and husband Scott of Culver, Priscilla Nelson and husband Brandan of Monticello, Jennifer Hamilton and husband Joe of Monticello; two step sons: Jason Long of Churubusco, Dan Schidler of Rochester; 24 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren;  two sisters:  Susanne Grady of Downers Grove, IL, Lisa Jackson of Cleveland, OH;  and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Jane in death by her parents and her husband, sister Faith Petri-Brown.

A graveside service will be at the Bruce Lake Cemetery in 2024. Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Army Honors team.
