Obituary

Mr. James R. Adams, 82, of Rochester,  was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 3:30 AM, Tuesday, December 15 , 2015 at Mason Health Care of Warsaw.

On September 6 , 1933, James was born to Roy and Esther Jones Adams in Atwood.  Growing up he shared his childhood with three sisters and a brother. With great Flyer pride he graduated from Akron High School in 1952.

In Packerton, James and Kathryn R. Willard were married on March 14 , 1981.  They enjoyed over 34 years of life's adventures.  Together they raised three daughters  and five sons.  Over the years the family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

A devoted member of the Riverview Community Church, James served as Sunday usher.  He also enjoyed the church concerts and helping out with summer church camp.

An avid arm chair athlete, James loved cheering on the Indianapolis Colts the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Around the house he enjoyed  manicuring the lawn and gardening.  He was known especially for his tomatoes and cucumbers.  James could fix anything with his trusty duc  tape and WD-40. To relax he and Kathryn traveled on the senior bus trips from coast to coast and many destinations in between.  They also enjoyed a memorable  cruise to Alaska.

James is lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathryn; two daughters: Peggy Stover and Kerry of Pierceton; Mary Strahan and husband Dan of Marion; daughter-in-law Nancy Rans of Akron; three sons: Larry Joe Adams and wife Shirley of Coleman, TX; Kenny Adams and wife Robin of Warsaw; James R. Rans Jr. and wife Melanie of Grove City, OH;   19 grandchildren: Angela Carr, Kimberly Dunnuck and husband Steve, Felicia Daeger and husband Scott, Nikki Cabell and husband Scott, Justin Stover and wife Shannon, Jennifer Calhoun and husband Alex, Corey Helms, Stacey Helms, Bailey White, Jonathan White, Travis Rans, Brian Adams and wife Miranda, Jennie Adams, David Adams and wife Jessica, Patricia Madsen and husband Jason, Amelia "Amy' Adams, Lauren 'Pete" Adams, Jacob Rans, Jackson Rans; 27 great grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Busch and husband Bob of Dewart Lake, Mary Weese of Rochester; a brother, Bill Adams and wife Ardith of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding James in death are his parents; two sons: Daniel Rans, Henry Adams; daughter Diane Adams; and a sister, Bea Gordon.

Rev. Rod Ruberg will officiate services.  Interment will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery.
