Obituary

Mrs. Jacquelyn A. Holloway, 79, of Macy passed away at her home on June 24 , 2018.
In Grant County, on July 30 , 1938 Jacquelyn Ann "Jackie" Rogers was born.  She was a treasured daughter of Jesse and Beatrice Stinson Rogers.  Growing up as the sixth oldest of the Rogers kids, she shared her childhood with six sisters and five brothers.
In Marion on August 20 , 1971 Jackie married the love of her life, Mr. David Lee Holloway.  Together they shared over 46 years of life's adventures.   As the matriarch of the Holloway family, Grandma Jackie was proud to oversee four generations.
With a strong work ethic, Jackie was a dedicated employee of Gencorp in Marion for more than 34 years retiring in 1994.  After her retirement Jackie went to work in a local hotel in Rochester, working till age 70. Her memberships include UAW Local, United Rubber Workers, Phi Delta Kappa past national sweetheart of Marion , Eagles Women's Auxiliary, and Elk's Lodge # 2120 where she served as past exalted ruler of both Rochester clubs.
An avid Cincinnati Reds fan, Jackie attended multiple games each summer for over four decades .  Her favorite was fan appreciation day. She loved country music and attended the annual country concert in Ft. Loramie, Ohio always held the weekend after July 4th .   Dave took Jackie to Branson where they enjoyed many shows.
Left to cherish Jackie's  memory are her husband, David L. Holloway; her children: Roger McGriff and wife Cheryl of Marion, Melissa Hueston and husband Dan of Gas City, Virginia Ritter and husband Sam of Marion, Correna First and husband Bobby of Fairmount, Jesse McGriff and wife Susan of Kokomo, David A. Holloway of Fisher, Diane Schafer of Wausau, Wisconsin;  23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren;  3 sisters:  Marge Cummings and husband Russel of Florida,  Jean DeCamp of Upland, Sandy Halsell and husband Roy of Lake Webster;  3 brothers: Robert Gray of Anderson, Ricky Rogers and wife Reta of Upland, and Jerry Rogers and wife Michelle of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Preceding Jackie in death are her parents, Jesse and Beatrice Rogers; a son, Donald Holloway in 2014; a grandson Timothy Michael McGriff; a granddaughter, Marissa Rose Whitehead; 3 sisters: Francis Lightle, Marie Shore, Charlene Rhoten; and 2 brothers: Jack Rogers and Bob Kirby.
A celebration of the life of Mrs. Jacquelyn Ann "Jackie" Holloway will be at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, June 27 , 2018 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester.    Her family will receive friends from 2:00 until the time of the service.  Burial will follow in the Garden of Memory south of Huntington.  Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Heart Association 208 S.
