Obituary

Mr. Jack Triplett , 78, of Rochester went home to be with the Lord with his loving wife Phyllis at his bed side  at 8:18 p.m. on November 26th, 2015 .

Born on June 20 , 1937, in Wise County, Virginia,   Jack was the treasured son of Thomas and  Sarah Stella  McGuire Triplett.  As the youngest of ten children, growing up he shared his childhood with five sisters and four brothers.


Answering the call of patriotism, Jack enlisted with the United States Navy serving in Cuba from 1956  - 1958.   A few years after returning stateside he studied Lumber Inspection in  Memphis TN.  Jack later worked as an inspector for Pike Lumber in Akron for over 31 dedicated years of service, retiring in 2002.

In Helenwood, TN  on June 30 , 1961, Jack married the love of his life and best friend Phyllis  Delores Pittman.  They shared over 54 years of life's adventures.  From their union came a son Rusty and daughter Melissa.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of three grandchildren.


As a loyal member Riverview Community  Church,  Jack served as usher and was a member of the adult Sunday School class.  To relax he enjoyed playing his acoustical guitar.  Paramount in his life were his grandchildren.  He looked forward to their visits and making memories that would last a lifetime.

Left to cherish Jack's memory are his beloved wife Phyllis, at  home; a daughter, Melissa  Patrick  and husband Martin of San Luis Obispo, CA;  a son, Russell (Rusty)  Triplett  (Laura) of  Cedar Rapids, Iowa;  three grandchildren :  Sidney, Sammie, amd Erik Triplett; a sister, Ada Ruth Cantrell of Helenwood, TN;  and a sister-in-law, Loretta Triplett of Helenwood, TN.  Preceding Jack are his parents;  4 sisters:  Hazel Cunningham, Irene Lloyd, Kate Mullins, Frankie  Triplett;  and the four Triplett brothers: Herbert, Charles, Bill and Estel.

Pastor Rod Ruberg will officiate services.   Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, southeast of Rochester.
