Jack J. Hedrick, 58, passed away at 9:40 AM, on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
On January 24, 1964, Jack Jay was born in Rochester to Roy Lee and Carolyn Lee Smith Hedrick.
Jack and Mary Louise Kelly were married on April 9, 1983. There union produced three beautiful daughters. The family tree continued to grow with the additions of eleven grandchildren.
As a truck driver, Jack transported doublewide homes across the country. He loved being on the road, riding on his black Harley-Davidson DYNA Super Glide with orange flames. Taking the grandchildren for rides on the motorcycle and the dirt bike was always a great time.
Loving nature, Jack fished for Pike various Lakes in in Michigan and had recently been kayaking in Florida. During hunting season, he often targeted the raccoon. In the winter months, the snowmobile was enjoyed with his daughters. Throwing a ball to Penny was almost a daily event.
Locally at the 4-H fairgrounds, he drove in the Demolition Derby and the Figure 8 Races. To relax he watched NASCAR and WWE Wrestle Mania. He was a member of ABATE.
Left to cherish Jack's memory are three daughters: Leslie Wilburn and husband Scott of Rochester, Laura Wreglesworth and husband Brad of Mooresville, Michelle Haselby and husband Michael of Star City; lifetime friend, Mary L. Kelly of Rochester; 11 grandchildren: Liam Wilburn, Livian Wilburn, Gwyneth Wilburn, Max Wreglesworth, Rex Wreglesworth, Jax Wreglesworth, Natalie Kirby, Adrianna Hall, Brayden Hall, Ava Haselby, Colten Haselby; his siblings: Chris Sutton and husband Randy of Rochester, Joe Manns of Athens, LeeAnn Fisher and husband John of Rochester, John Hedrick and wife Iva of Rochester, Jimmy Hedrick of Rochester, Rhonda Abbott and husband Todd of Rochester, Bob Hedrick and wife Paula of Peru, Terry Hedrick of Kokomo, Stephen Hedrick of Galveston, Rebecca Hulet of Greentown, Mike Sims and wife Beatrice of Hebron, Jeffrey Sims and wife Rina of Peru, David Sims of Peru, Kathy Strahlem of Logansport; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Jack in death are his parents Carolyn and Ivan Abrams, Roy and Virginia Hedrick; his niece Breanna Abbott; and Penny, his Jack Russell Terrier.
A celebration of the life of Jack Jay Hedrick will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 28, 2022 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18 th St., Rochester. Pastor Thad Stewart will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Thursday.
