Mr. Irvin A. Jylland, 75, of Rochester, passed away at 10:30 PM, Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. On July 12, 1939, Irvin was born in Rochester, MN to Chester and Hazel Walker Jylland. Irv worked at Winamac Spring & Coil until becoming disabled. To relax he enjoyed going to the truck stop for a cup of coffee and catching up on the latest news. Known as "Mr. Fix-It" Irv, was often found working on lawnmowers and sweepers. Irv and Patsy Struble Jacobs were married on January 28, 2000 in Rochester at the Grace United Methodist Church. She passed away on August 21, 2014. Irv is survived by two daughters: Mary Hamric of Fort Wayne, Jerri Miller of Tishamingo, MS; a son: Carl Jylland of FL; step daughters: Sevilla Rhoades of Plymouth, Sandra Stephens-Miller of Indianapolis, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his canine companion, Nicole. Preceding Irv in death are his parents, wife, a daughter Kathern M. Padgett, a son Irvin Jylland Jr. and a sister. Graveside services for Mr. Irvin Jylland will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Citizen's Cemetery of Rochester. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
