Obituary

Mrs. Hazel Irene Harrison, 83 of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 1:30 PM, on October 1, 2012. Hazel was born in Luther, OK on May 4, 1929, the precious daughter of Eber and Bertha Marie Rader Chandler. Growing up on the plains of Oklahoma, Hazel shared her childhood with 2 sisters, Helen and Joann, and a brother Leon. During her high school years Hazel enjoyed playing on the girls basketball team. In 1948, with great pride she graduated from Milfay High School, Milfay, OK. On May 16, 1949, Hazel married her best friend and the love of her life, Mr. Roy James Harrison, in Bristow, OK. Their union produced two sons, Terry and Jerry. Over the years the family tree grew with the added blessings of 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and earlier this year, the arrival of the fifth generation, a great-great-granddaughter Isabella. Hazel cherished the times spent with her family, but especially getting to know the newest family edition. For many years Hazel let the good times roll at Quick's Lanes. An avid bowler, she was a member of the Tuesday afternoon senior leagues and earlier was a participant of the Wednesday night ladies leagues. She sported a stealth average and sometimes prevailed over the men. Hazel was also a loyal and devoted member of the Order of Easter Star #70, Rochester. Hazel is lovingly remembered by her son Terry Harrison and wife Charlene of Rochester; 3 grandchildren: Laura Troyer and husband John of Denver, Kelli Harrison of Columbus, Ohio, Misty Teske of LaPorte; 7 great grandchildren: Harrison See, Sharlie See, Braden See, David Wilson, Steven Teske, Bonnie Troyer, Mark Troyer; a new great-great-granddaughter Isabella See; and her sister Joann Vickrey of Davenport, OK. Preceding Hazel in death are her parents, beloved husband Roy, a son Jerry Harrison, a granddaughter Cheri Cavinder, a sister Helen Holland, and a brother Leon Chandler. Chaplain Jason See will officiate services. officiating. Hazel will be laid to rest on the family plot in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
