Mr. Harvey Jackson III, 44, of Kewanna passed away at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 30, 2020 at his residence.
On January 6, 1976, Harvey III was born in Chicago to Harvey Jr. and Beverly A. Norman Jackson. Growing up as one of the nine Jackson children, he shared his childhood with five sisters and three brothers. Harvey was a member of the Culver Community High School class of 1995.
As a truck driving professional, Harvey was a member of the Local # 150 and Laborers Union # 71. He also was an excavation expert. There was nothing better than catching a warm summer breeze on his 2004 Harley - Davidson Black Screaming Eagle. He and Amy would take day trips to Chicago, South Bend or Kokomo as their favorite destinations.
With a passion for sports, Harvey loved shooting hoops, swimming in the pond and fishing off the shores of Bass Lake or Lake Maxinkuckee. To relax he listened to blues.
An entertainment extraordinaire, Harvey was an amazing host. He was accomplished with the art of grilling. His specialties were BBQ, chicken and ham all prepared on the grill.
Left to cherish Harvey's memory are his fiancée Amy Hummel; his mother, Beverly Jackson of Rochester; 12 children: Jasmine Jackson, Kayla Jackson, Harvey James Jackson IV, all of South Bend, Alivia Jackson, Abygail Jackson, Anastasia Jackson, all of Kewanna, Elijah Jackson, Ethan Jackson, Mathias Jackson, Brayden Jackson, all of Rochester, Natalia Pittman of Plymouth, Nekesa Thigpen of Minnesota; a grandson, Juvencio Amar Jackson; his siblings: Nianna Jackson of Chicago, Michelle L. Jackson of Indianapolis, Vanessa L. Jackson-Frias (Juan) of Osceola, Phyllinga L. Jackson of Rochester, Joshua L. Jackson (Greta) of Kewanna, David L. Jackson (Katrina), and Michael L. Jackson, all of Rochester; and maternal grandmother Pearlie and Eldee Norman. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceding Harvey in death are his father, Harvey Jackson Jr. on October 1, 2008; twin sisters Sandra Ann and Wanda Renee on October 3, 1974; sister Arnesia L. "Dumplin" Jackson on April 3, 2007; and paternal grandmother Rosie Lee Howell.
A celebration of the life of Mr. Harvey Jackson III will be at 1:00 PM EST, ( Noon Chicago time ) November 7, 2020 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester. Elder Cleophus Mooney Sr. and Ernest Howell will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot at the Leiters Ford IOOF Cemetery.
