Harold Lewis, 80, 9254 N. Miami St., Perrysburg, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 9:31 p.m. Wednesday at his home. He was born in Fulton County on Aug. 12, 1930, to Raymond and Lucille (Nicodemus) Lewis. Growing up he shared his childhood with two sisters Betty and Francis. On July 1, 1950, before the Justice of the Peace and witnesses, Harold married his best friend, Annie Damron in Logansport. Together they shared over 60 years of marriage and produced two daughters, Pam and Sandy, and two sons, Paul and Dean. The family tree grew as Harold was the patriarch overseeing five generations. Harold was a retired self-employed trucker, owning 14 Peterbuilt rigs during his professional career. He hauled loads of all types and enjoyed traveling coast-to-coast. On some occasions his wife Annie accompanied him. To relax he enjoyed traditional country music like Connie Francis and Brenda Lee, western movies, especially "Bonanza," "Gunsmoke" and Roy Rogers. Wheel of Fortune was also a show he rarely missed. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, cheering for all of the male drivers. Harold's memberships included the Manitou Veterans of Foreign Wars and he was a life member for the Eagles Lodge, both of Rochester. He and his family looked forward to the Sunday evening cookouts and sharing time together. When he was home, Blackie, his canine companion, a husky, could usually be seen at his side. Harold is lovingly remembered by his wife, Annie, at home; mother Lucille Lewis, Rochester; two daughters, Pam Wentz and husband George, Macy, and Sandy Click and husband Edward, Denver; son Dean Damron and wife Paula, Rochester; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; his sister Betty Holloway and husband Jack, Grass Creek; and canine companion Blackie, a husky. He was preceded in death by his father, son Paul Eytcheson, grandson Jason Click, and his sister Francis Riner. A celebration of the life of Harold Lewis is at 11 a.m. Monday in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment is at the Citizens Cemetery, Rochester. Memorials may be made to Miami-Wabash County Hospice.
