Gladys Marie Daniels, 61, 1535 E. Ninth St. Lot No. 32, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 10 a.m. Monday at her home. Gladys was born in Prestonsburg, Ky., on July 9, 1949, the daughter of Luther and Beatrice (Powers) Shell. Growing up she shared her childhood with five brothers and three sisters. On June 5, 1991, Gladys and James Daniels were married in Warsaw. Together they shared a wonderful life for nearly two decades. As a true country girl, Gladys enjoyed wearing her flip-flops or simply going barefoot during the summer months. Summertime also brought warm afternoons and evenings and allowed her to sit on the porch while reading mysteries, novels and books of romance. As a passionate garage saler, Gladys enjoyed snaring many deals of the day. She added to her vast collection of knickknacks and bear collection. Gladys is lovingly remembered by her husband, James Daniels, Rochester; three daughters, Tamara Wolford and husband Leon, Pineville, Ark., Sheila Robinson and companion Dan Feeny, Rochester, and Wanda Hamilton, Warsaw; six grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Johnny Slone, Ben Robinson, Ron Webb, David Wolford, and Jessica Wolford; great-grandson Aiden Miller; three sisters, Virginia Freeman, Jacksonville, Fla., Brenda Bradley and husband Lawrence, Talma, and Trina Cantrell, Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, James Patrick Shell and wife Connie, Milton, Ky., Jack Shell and wife Joyce, Pikeville, Ky., Robert Shell, Jacksonville, Fla., Steve Shell, Madison; and favorite niece, who is like a daughter, Mary Scott and husband Bruce, Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Joseph Ray Webb; and a brother, Gregory Shell. A celebration of the life of Gladys Daniels is at 2:00 p.m. today in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, with Chaplain Jason See officiating. Friends may visit with the family from noon to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment is at Silver Lake Cemetery.
