Obituary

Former Grass Creek resident, Mr. George King, 61, passed away at 4:05 PM, Wednesday at the Marion VA Hospital, Marion. George Allen King was born in Duluth, Minnesota on October 14, 1952. Soon after high school, George answered the call of duty, serving our country during the Vietnam War with the United States Navy. A member of the James Talbott V.F.W. Post #1121 in Kewanna, George served as the Commander of the post for a number of years. In his earlier years he was a loyal employee of Galbreath Corporation in Winamac as a welder. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Corri Bailey-Setvin and husband Rodney of Massillon, Ohio; a granddaughter Victoria Monaco; two sisters: Jeanette Hinks and husband Denny of Cloquet, MN, and Joy Johnston of Brainerd, MN; two brothers: Rick King and wife Colleen of Kewanna, and Tim King of Texas. Several nieces and nephews also survive. His parents preceded him in death. A celebration of the life of Mr. George Allen King will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10th at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester. Pastor David Sommers will officiate. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in the Grass Creek Cemetery.
