Mr. George D. Holloway 94 of Rochester passed away at the Life Care Center of Rochester at 4:20 a.m. today. On March 11. 1920, George Dale was born a treasured son of Grandville and Maude Thompson Holloway. Growing up as one of five of the Holloway children, he shared his childhood with a sister Opal and three brothers Bud, Conde and Don. Following high school, George answered the call of patriotism and served our country with the United States Army during World War II. On December 14, 1941 Bette and George Dale Holloway were married. Together they shared nearly 71 years of life's adventures and brought into the world 2 handsome sons, Jeff and Randy. Over the years, 2 grandchildren, Dani and Nick, were added to the family tree. A dynamic couple, you never hardly saw Bette without George. Their life of over seven decades together is a testament of their love and devotion to each other. It wasn't long ago that they were often seen floating across the dance floor at the Elks and the Moose Lodges, cutting the rug, giving Fred and Ginger a run for their money. His warm brown eyes glistened as he enjoyed every step of the way. George served Fulton County as one of their coveted Prudential insurance agents for several decades of service. A sharply dress man, George always was topped with his signature flat top. To relax, he enjoyed the game of golf. He is remembered for his thundering drives with unparalleled accuracy, yet he could putt with finesse dropping the ball in the cup for a bogey. Left to cherish George's memory are; two sons: Randall J. Holloway of Rochester, and Jeffrey D. Holloway and wife Carol of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; a granddaughter, Danielle Holloway; and a grandson, Nicholas Holloway. To honor George's wishes no services will be observed. Burial will be in Rochester's IOOF Cemetery where he will be laid to eternally rest next to his beloved wife Bette. The Good Family Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements.
