Mr. Gary O. Pollock, 56, of Akron, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 1:53 PM, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Woodlawn Hospital. On February 17, 1959, Gary was born in Warsaw to Shirley Eugene and Norma Jean Taylor Pollock. Growing up he shared his childhood with a sister Mary Jo and two brothers Craig and Roger. As an American sportsman Gary hunted squirrel and coon. He could be spotted on the shoreline of many of the Kosciusko County Lakes with his casting rod or fly rod pursuing the limit of bass. He loved stock car racing. His favorite tracks were Plymouth, New Paris and Gas City. With a love for speed Gary watched NASCAR racing on Sunday afternoons. Proud to oversee three generations, Grandpa Gary cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. There was nothing better than celebrating birthdays, special occasions and the holidays with the sensational seven. Gary is lovingly remembered by his lifelong companion, Tracy S. Lewis; two daughters: Brittney Jackson and companion Philip Snook of Akron, Brandi Abney and husband Will of Rochester; two sons: Shannon Pollock of Conway, Ark, Shawn Pollock and wife Christi of Colorado Springs; 7 Grandchildren: Zaemen Norman, Layla Corral, Layne Marks, Cheyanne Marks, Allison Montgomery, Nina Archelatta, Shawn Patrick Pollock; four siblings: Mary Jo, Rosie, Craig, and Roger; several nieces and nephews; canine companion Mylo, a red Doberman Pinscher with a black saddle; and a feline companion Bob, an orange domestic short hair cat.
