Frederick A. "Fred" Jones

Fredrick A. Jones, 78, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital.

Born on August 31, 1948, in Logansport, Indiana, Fred was a treasured son of Ralph and Mildred Jones. He was a man known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and deep devotion to his family. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1966.

On September 13, 1970, Fred married the love of his life, Joyce Pusey. Together they built a life centered on love, partnership, and family, sharing nearly 56 years of marriage and countless cherished memories.

Fred had a lifelong interest in automobiles, a passion that led him into the collision repair industry. Over the years, he worked at several local body shops, developing a reputation for quality workmanship and leadership. In 1976, he joined Parkway Body Shop, where his dedication and expertise helped him rise to the position of shop manager. In 1992, Fred and Joyce were given the opportunity to purchase the business. Together they proudly owned and operated Parkway Body Shop, serving their community with honesty, integrity, and professionalism until their retirement in March 2017.

In addition to his career, Fred was deeply involved in his church and community. He was a faithful attendee of Grace Church. He also enjoyed sharing his love of music as a member of the Sentimental Journeys Band running the sound board. He also generously volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity, helping others and strengthening the community he loved. Whether through his work, music, faith, or service, Fred made a lasting impact on the lives of many.

Above all, Fred cherished time spent with family and friends. He will be remembered for his warm smile, steady presence, generous spirit, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.

Fred was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Jones; his son, Travis Jones (Wife Stephanie); his daughter, Andrea Jones; his sister, Janelle Smith; brother-in-Laws Everett Henderson, Allen Baillieul, Mark Pusey, George Wolford; sister-in-Laws Janice Wolford, Donna Pusey, Sheila Pusey; his grandchildren: Christian Jones (Wife Molly), Emme Jones, and Eden Jones; his great-grandchildren: Delilah Small, Hendrix and Lovella Gast; along with many more very loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding in death are parents Ralph and Mildred Jones;  his brothers, Robert and David Jones; sisters Kay Henderson and Carol Baillieul; and brother-in-law Daniel Pusey.

Fred leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, faith, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will live in the hearts of his family, friends, church family, and all whose lives he touched.

A celebration of the life of Fredrick A. "Fred" Jones will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 12-00 West 18th Street, Rochester. His family will receive friends from 11:00 until the time of the service. Pastor Kurt Nichols will officiate. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Fund thru the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, the Grace Church Wednesday Night Meal or Fulton County Habitat for Humanity.
