Former Tippecanoe and Argos resident, Mrs. Faye I. Menser, 91, passed away at 1:25 a.m. July 2, 2014, at Life Care Center, Rochester. Born in Plymouth on December 28, 1922 Faye was the treasured daughter of Clark A and Elsie Ruth Lozier Reed. With great Dragon pride Faye graduated with her class from Argos High School in 1940. A vibrant member of the Marshall County Republican Women, Faye served as precinct committeeman for a number of years. She and Bob were personal friends of Indiana's Gov. Otis R. Bowen and his wife Beth. Other memberships include the 1st Baptist Church, Rochester, and the Tippecanoe Auxiliary. She attended the Tippecanoe Community Church for a number of years. Later that year, on September 7, 1940, Faye married the love of her life Robert B. Menser. Together they enjoyed a half century of life's adventures. From their union came three wonderful children, two daughters Diana and Mina and a son Hal. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of three more loving generations. As the matriarch of the Menser family, Grandma Faye was passionate about over seeing five generations. An extraordinary cook, from her kitchen command post, Faye loved preparing the crispiest fried chicken, or swiss steak and her own special recipe, French salad dressing. As a coveted member of the "greatest generation," Faye occasionally reminisced about the depression and what life was like living and surviving the day to day challenges. With a positive attitude, she was grounded to persevere. Left to cherish Faye's memory are two daughters: Diana Anderson and husband Phillip of Argos, Mina Jones and husband Davis of Warsaw; a son Hal Menser and wife Joyce of Peru; 7 grandchildren including Shelley Mitchell, Greg Anderson, Steve Anderson, Kristi Webb, Deena Tucker, Rick Menser and Paula Bouldin; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Phyllis Martin of Tippecanoe. Preceding Faye in death are her parents, beloved husband, Bob in 1989, a brother Ernest Reed, and 4 step-sisters: Dorothy Hagan, Lois Wheadon, Jean Smith and Marion Crafton. Her son Rev. Hal Menser, assisted by Pastor Rod Ruberg, will officiate. She will be laid to eternal rest next to her beloved husband Bob at the Tippecanoe Cemetery, Tippecanoe.
