Mrs. Evelyn R. Reese, 85, of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at the home of her daughter at 11:30 on Saturday, September 6, 2014. On October 19, 1928, Evelyn was born in Fulton County to Luroy and Elizabeth Laura Smith Bick. She shared her childhood with two brothers, Clyde and Charles. In 1946, Evelyn graduated with her class from Rochester High School. Wilbur Gene Reese and Evelyn were married on June 27, 1948 in Rochester. He passed away on May 27, 1998. Their union of fifty years produced a daughter and a son. Two more generations have been added to the family tree. Evelyn was a homemaker. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, reading and flower gardening. As a beautician for 15 years, Evelyn was the owner of Cut & Curl, which was located in her home. After retiring, Gene and Evelyn spent 27 winters in Sebring, FL. At an early age, Evelyn attended the Trinity United Methodist Church. Later she became a member of the church and was very active in the Morning Glory Circle. She was also a member of the Green Oak Community Club and a volunteer at Woodlawn Hospital. Evelyn is lovingly remembered by a daughter, Cathy Weissert and husband Michael of Tippecanoe; a son, Larry Reese and wife Ruth of Rochester; a grandson Alan Reese and wife Sarah of Rochester; and two great grandsons: Tyler Reese and Grant Reese, both of Rochester. Preceding Evelyn in death are her parents, husband and two brothers: Clyde Bick on September 17, 1947 and Charles Bick on April 14, 1976. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
