Mrs. Eva J. Collins Reese, 96, of Rochester passed away at 12:12 AM, Sunday, January 13th, 2013 at Riverwalk Village, Noblesville. Eva was born in Oakland, IL on April 5, 1916, the precious daughter of Roscoe and Grace White Collins. Growing up as one of eight children, she shared her childhood with four sisters and three brothers. On December 14, 1947 Eva married her best friend, Buryl Reese, in Champaign, IL. Their union spanned nearly a half century. Together they raised two daughters, Evelyn and Shirley, and a son Harold. Over the years the family tree grew with the added blessings of 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Eva is lovingly remembered by two daughters: Evelyn L. Walker of Noblesville and Shirley Parkhurst of Plymouth; son Harold Smith of Knox; a sister, Alberta "Bertie" Smith of Rochester; and a brother, Merle Collins of Rochester. Several nieces, and nephews also survive. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband of 49 years Buryl on December 31, 1996, 3 sisters: Leota Parks, Edna Holloway, Mildred Emigh; & 2 brothers: Carl Collins & Melvin Collins. Rev. Maurice Grindle will officiate services. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
