Mrs. Elena Jaques, 63, Rochester, passed away at 3:47 AM, Tuesday, May 6th, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. On April 25, 1951, Elena was born in San Marcos, TX the cherished daughter of Frutso and Cecilia Gutirrez Silguero. A beautiful June bride, Elena and Fernando Jaques were married on June of 1974 in St. John's Catholic Church of San Marcos. He preceded her in death. In 2000, Elena moved to Rochester from San Marcos, She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Rochester. Elena is lovingly remembered by two daughters, Cecilia Powell and fiancé Mark Hopkins of Rochester and their children : Robert J. Powell, Benjamin Noble Hopkins, and daughter Luisa Vick and husband Josh of Silver Lake and their children: Billy Jaques-Robbins, Jade Collins, and Lola Vick; a son Fernando Jaques of San Marcos; a sister Lupe Silguero of Wimberley, TX. Preceding Elena in death are her parents, husband and 7 siblings: Vicente, Maria, Frutoso, Pola, Fidel, Jesus, Jose and two step siblings: Gumezinda and Alejandro.
