Minnie Donnabell McGlothin, 87, of 909 Clover St. Rochester, died at approximately 2:30 AM, Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011 at Hickory Creek Senior Care where she had lived for the past two years and had been in declining health. Donnabell was born on January 4, 1924, in Rochester to Lester and Rose Mikesell. She lived most of her life in this community. On April 1, 1943, she was united in marriage to John Clay McGlothin at the First Christian Church in Rochester, with the Reverend Grant Blackwood officiating. They were married for 49 years until John's death on October 20, 1992. Donnabell retired from Torin Corporation and was a member of the Macy Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, movies, dining out and visiting with family, friends, and her beloved dog Lady. She was especially close with her niece Sondra Geller who she loved like a daughter and considered her best friend. Surviving is a daughter, Dawn Rogers of Smyrna, Delaware; a son,Richard McGlothin of Rochester; 5 granddaughters, 6 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; 1 niece, Sondra Geller of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Denny and daughter-in law Linda. Burial services will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband John.
