Donna Malott Woods, 80, of Rochester passed away at 8:27 PM on June 15 , 2022 at Northwest Health of Valparaiso.

On October 23 , 1942, Donna Kay was born in Lake County to Elmer H. and Ethel Brown Malott. As one of seven children, growing up she shared her childhood with five sisters and a brother.

In Lake County, Donna married David E. Woods Jr. on July 16 ,1960. They shared nearly 60 years of life's adventures. From their union came two wonderful children, Donna and David.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations.

As the co-owner of D. Woods Auto, Donna assisted as the office manager. With a great work ethic, Donna worked at Hart Shaffner and Marx for 25 years and at Kroger of Rochester for 11 years. She was active in Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron and recently received her 50 year pin.

The Woods family enjoyed vacations round America's heartland.  Special memories were made with visits to Louisville, the Ford Museum near Detroit or seeing the "House on the Rock."   A huge highlight was visiting the upper peninsula of Michigan, the Soo Locks near Sault Ste. Marie and Mackinac Island.  Going to her brother, Roscoe and Tina's home for fishing and family time was cherished.

Grandma Woods loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Baking and cooking for her family for birthdays and holidays was always enjoyed. Her black labs were very much a part of her family. She loved her canine companions.

Looking for the best deals, Donna could often be found at yard sales and flea markets.  She was very crafty, making cards, diamond dotting and woodworking.

Left to cherish memories of Donna are a daughter, Donna Ethel Woods Newman and husband Kerry of Kewanna;  a son, David E. Woods III and wife Deborah of Argos; three grandchildren: Heather Nicole Woods Corn and husband Brian, Kyle D. Newman and wife Anna,  Karena D. Newman; one great-granddaughter, Isabel Jane Newman; canine companion, Dingy the black lab; two great-grand dogs: Derby and SoCo the White Mini Poodles; brother Roscoe Malott and wife Tina of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Donna in death are her parents; husband; son, Elmer P. Woods who was born into Heaven; five sisters: Juanita, Margaret, Flossie, Hilda, Joan; and a toddler brother.

A celebration of the life of Donna K. Woods will be at 12 noon on Saturday, June 18 , 2022 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18 ^th St., Rochester. Pastor Brian Trump will officiate.  Friends may visit with the family from 9-11:30 AM. An Eastern Star service will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday .  Interment will be the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
