Mrs. Donna Hart, age 82, of Logansport was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis at 3:29 p.m., on April 30th. On January 3, 1932, Donna Mae Bunn was born in Fulton County, the cherished daughter of Ralph B. and Glenrose E. Nuell Bunn. Growing up she shared her childhood with her brother Robert. She grew up on the farm in Richland Township where her love and appreciation for agriculture began. Donna graduated from Richland Center High School in 1949. Following high School she attended short course agriculture classes and Indiana University at Kokomo. During her early years she attended Richland Center United Methodist Church. In Richland Center, Donna married the love of her life, Donald E. Hart, on October 2, 1949. Don preceded in death on August 7, 1972 when he was tragically killed in an airplane accident. Shortly after their marriage they moved to New England to live while Don, a Korean War veteran, served our country. During their twenty-two years of marriage they raised four daughters, Debby, Cathy, Lee Ann, and Holly and two sons, Ralph and Jody. The family tree grew with the added blessings of ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. With a distinct passion for agriculture, Donna was a third generation farmer, living on the farm in Richland Township that had been in her family's possession. She and Don actively tended to the dairy operation, overseeing the milking of a fine herd of 70 Holsteins. They were awarded the Silver Award for testing milk from the Dairy Herd International Association in Marshall County. Each spring they shared the plowing and planting of corn, soybeans and hay on their 320 acre farm. After leaving the farm Donna moved to Logansport, and began working at Memorial Hospital in respiratory therapy for a decade. She was a member of the Logansport Ladies Auxiliaries of the V.F.W. and American Legion. Donna was a charter member and was past president of the Parents Without Partners Logansport Chapter. She collected antiques, folk art and enjoyed crafts. As the matriarch of the Hart family, Donna, with great pride, oversaw five generations. What a wonderful legacy. She so loved her children and adored her grandchildren, the great and the great-greats too! There was nothing more special than sharing times during the holidays and special family celebrations. Donna enjoyed the adventures of travel and managed to include the grandkids and other family members during her escapes. They visited Cancun, Hawaii and Acapulco to name a few of her favorite destinations. Left to cherish Donna's memory are 4 daughters: Debby Hart Krebs and husband Rick of Laconia, Cathy Kramer and Mike Clark of Hudson, Lee Ann Hart Stanley and Jim of Illinois, Holly Hart of Texas; two sons: Ralph Hart and wife Barbara, Jody Hart and wife Nancy; 10 grandchildren: Chad Johnson And wife Amy of MI, Bryan Hart and wife Tracey of Rochester, Bill Hart and wife Stacy Hart of Rochester, Seth Kramer of FL, Ryvrle Rentschler of TX, Shawna Hart of Rochester, Beverly Hart of Rochester, Cody Hart of Rochester, Nichole Saxe Risner of Rochester, Kendall Hoover of IL; 5 great grandchildren: Justin and Shaylee Hart of Rochester, Natalie Hart of Plymouth, Courtney and Ethan Houser of Rochester, 3 great great grandchildren: Riley Bailey, Christopher Hart, and Damian Hart; and a sister, Ruth Campbell all of Rochester.
