Mr. Donald Wayne "Moe" Hughes, 62 of Rochester passed away at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, June 12 , 2019 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.

On January 21 , 1957, Don was born in Chicago to Billy and Barbara Crocker Hughes. Growing up he shared his childhood with a sister and two brothers.

In Chicago, on July 7 , 1973, Moe married the love of his life,  Lillian Graham. They shared 46 years of life's adventures. Their union produced seven  wonderful children.   The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations.

Following their children to northern Indiana, Moe and Lillian moved to Rochester in 1998. Often family time included a cookout and discussions of the Chicago sports teams. The Bears, White Sox, Black Hawks and the Bulls were all #1. Since moving to Indiana, Notre Dame and the Colts were also favored by Moe.  Lillian was Moe's queen, he cherished the time spent with her and their family.  He taught them many valuable life lessons thru the examples he set.

Initially,  in the early years, Moe was an over the road truck driver.  More recently, many will remember him delivering reliable service you can count on, driving for Mike's Trash Removal.   He was  dedicated to his customers  for 19 years.  You could often find Moe with a brush in hand, painting anything that needed his special touch.

Left to cherish Moe's memories are his wife, Lillian; four daughters: Barbara Hughes of Rochester, Jodi Hughes and fiancé Luis Aristizabal and Denise Hughes all of Chicago, and Stayce Hughes and companion Jermain Buchannan of Rochester; three sons:  Donny Hughes and fiancé Whitney Hudson Wood of North Manchester, Billy Hughes and wife Heather and Jesse Hughes all of Rochester; special family friend and "son",  Mark Seabolt of Rochester; 14 grandchildren: Aaliyiah, Betty, Ronnie and fiancé Hannah,  Terrance, Lydia, Destiny, Iziah and companion Abigail, Madisyn, Billy, Tristyn , Mckynzy, Memphis, Tallon, Gatlyn; four great grandchildren: T.J., Grayson, Zeke, Paisley; a brother, DeWayne Hughes and wife Sandria of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Don in death are his parents, sister, Barbara Gail Olson and a brother, Danny Hughes.

A celebration of the life of Mr. Donald Wayne "Moe" Hughes will be at 7:00 PM, Friday July 12 , 2019 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester.  Friends may visit with his family from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.  Mr. David Smith will officiate.
