Mr. Donald L. Frounfelter, 88, of Rochester, passed away at 4:25 PM, Thursday, June 25th, at Woodlawn Hospital. On August 17, 1926, Don was born in Martinsville to Efra and Anna Buis Frounfelter. He was the youngest of four sons. Don grew up in Morgantown and a farm outside Martinsville. He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1944. As a member of the US Army Air Corp, he served in the South Pacific during WWII. When Don returned home, he attended IU, graduating with a BS in business in 1950. He worked for J.C. Penney's, Pollack Paper and Sonoco Paper Products. After 30 years, he retired from Sonoco as District Sales Manager in 1986. Don and Barbara Bain were married on December 24, 1948 in Spencer. They shared 65 years of marriage before she preceded him in death January 15, 2014. Don is also preceded in death by his parents, son William H. Frounfelter on September 4, 2001, and three brothers. Don is lovingly remembered by two daughters: Sarah Lee and husband Mike of Amherst, OH, Donalee Frounfelter of Wildwood, IL; two sons: Dr. Jim Frounfelter and wife Patti of Ishpeming, MI and Dr. D.J. Frounfelter and wife Lori of Rochester; 9 grandchildren: Nate Lee and wife Christine of Lakewood, OH, Dr. Aaron Lee and wife Dr. Meghan of Downers Grove, IL, Mike Lee and wife Keisa of Columbus, OH, James Frounfelter and wife Suzanne of Seattle, WA, Molly Frounfelter and husband Dr. Jeremy Michelak of Pittsburg, PA, Dr. Bill Frounfelter and wife Ashley of Rochester, Dr. Adam Frounfelter and wife Dr. Allie of Evansville, Dr. Tyler Frounfelter and wife Martha of Evansville, Kelsey House and husband Mark of Rochester; and 15 great grandchildren. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery of Martinsville. Memorials in Don's name may be made to Indiana University Foundation, 340 W.
