Former Rochester resident, Dewey Allen Armstrong, 56, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on August 27 , 2021, after two valiant battles with cancer.

On July 25 , 1965, Dewey was born to Roger and Jenice Deeds Armstrong. He shared his childhood with a brother, Craig. Dewey graduated from Rochester High School in 1983 and from Purdue University in 1987 with a B.A. in retail management.

As a retail buyer, Dewey enjoyed hanging out with his work family. Though he loved Purdue, he loved his politics as well. In 2016 he posted, "Cubs win, Trump wins...How much more perfect can 2016 be??" But his greatest passion was his love for his niece and nephew as well as their children. Spoiling them to the max, he was called "Uncle Doozie" by the younger ones.

Left to cherish Dewey's memory are his mother, Jenice Armstrong of Mishawaka; brother, Craig Armstrong and wife Melissa of Elkhart; a niece, Michelle Holt, a nephew, Graigory Armstrong and wife Andrea, along with his great nieces and nephew, Mackenzie Holt, Jameson Holt, Reagan Holt, Evelyn Armstrong and Nora Armstrong.

Dewey was preceded in death by his father, Roger on June 18 , 2020.

A celebration of the life of Dewey Armstrong will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 9 , 2021 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18 ^th St., Rochester. Pastor Julie Walker will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 10-1 on Saturday in the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Chili Cemetery.
