Mr. Dennis D. Cave  69,  of Rochester was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 3:35 AM, Sunday February 18 , 2018 at his home Connie and Jolene at his bedside.

On October 22 , 1948 in Rochester, Dennis Dean Cave was born.  He was a treasured son of Francis R. and Elsie Helen Seabolt Cave.  Growing up he shared his childhood with 3 sisters and 3 brothers.  In 1968,  Dennis graduated from Rochester High School.   Following high school patriotism beckoned.   Dennis answered the call serving with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

On December 22 , 1982,  Dennis married Connie Elliott.  He worked at Rochester Metal Products until 2010 when he retired.

With a great passion for the outdoors, Dennis hunted deer and fished for catfish.  Spring time brought on the mushroom season and he was there with many successful searches for the sponge morels.  Dennis loved gardening and annually planted a beautiful well-maintained garden.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Connie, at home: 3 daughters: Jolene Cave of Logansport, Denise Cave of Nappanee, Donna Shuck and husband James of Rochester; a son, Charles Cave and wife Diana of Warsaw; 7 grandchildren: Aryn Phillips, Justin Dawson, Sophie Shuck, Alexia Hinson, Clayton Hinson, Caitlyn Hinson and Lillian Cave; 2 sisters: Carol Guy and husband Mike of Arkansas, Bonnie Andreason of Rochester; 2 brothers: Francis E. "Sonny" Cave and wife Mary of Rochester, Terry Cave and wife Patsy of Warsaw; and his 2 Pomeranians: Cesar the black colored and C.J. the red-sable.  Preceding him in death are his parents, a sister Helen Biltz, and a brother Larry Cave.

A celebration of the life of Mr. Dennis Dean Cave will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 24 , 2018 at the Liberty Baptist Church 2089 Liberty Road, Rochester, IN  46975.  His family will received friends on Friday, February 23 from 4:00 - 7:00 at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.  Pastor Bill McSpadden will officiate.  He will be laid to eternal rest on the family plot at the Athens-Hoover Cemetery.  Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Fulton County Veteran's Honor Guard and the United States Navy Honor's Team.
