Mrs. Delores Ionia Grossman, 81, of Argos, was surrounded by her loving family when she went home to be with her Lord at 11:50 PM, Tuesday, September 11th, 2012 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester. Delores was born in Tippecanoe on July 31, 1931, the precious daughter of Orran "Buddy" & Hazel Vanlue Miller. As a youngster, she shared her childhood with a sister Audrey and two brothers, "Buddy" and Gordon. With great pride in 1949, Delores graduated with her class from Tippecanoe High School. On July 23, 1950, Delores and Dale E. Grossman solemnized their wedding vows at Tippecanoe. Their union spanned nearly 55 years and produced 5 daughters and 2 sons. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of 12 grandchildren. A devoted member of the Tippecanoe Community Church for over a half century, Delores served the youth as nursery supervisor, AWANA leader and she taught vacation Bible school classes. Delores and Dale for many years, shared the word of our Lord, manning the Marshall County 4-H Fair church booth. An avid Chicago Cub fan, she was known for her culinary skills. At home from her kitchen command post, Delores embraced the holidays and special family celebrations creating dinners the family raved about. Her specialty was her Italian spaghetti. Other memorable delicacies are her hot beef pizza and just from the oven, warm chocolate cookies with peanut butter chips. To relax she enjoyed listening to piano music and traditional hymns. Delores will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters: Kandi S. Dunham & husband Kevin of Argos, Pamela K. Buesking & husband Paul of Kokomo, Robin L Reichard & husband David of Warsaw, Jodi A. Grossman & companion Joe Mitchell of Indianapolis; two sons: Bruce A. Grossman & wife Joanne of Jamestown, Roger D. Grossman & wife Holly of Winona Lake: 12 Grandchildren: Mark Tew & wife Tina, Randy Dunham & wife Carling, Andrew Buesking & wife Melissa, Rebekah Reichard, Rachel Dunham, Allison Martin & husband Kyle, Nicholas Buesking, Kaitlin Reichard, Reghan Dunham, Alexis Grossman, Jordan Grossman, & Hannah Grossman; son-in-law Wayne Tew of Dothan, Alabama; and nieces and nephews who also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter Cheryl Tew, a sister Audrey, & two brothers, Welcome "Buddy" Miller & Gordon Miller. Rev. Douglas Fritzel & Rev. Rod Ruberg will officiate services. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery of Argos.
