David James Madison, 86, of Rochester, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 11:23 pm, Monday, August 6 , 2018 at his residence.
He was born May 8 , 1932, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was the son of Charles and Marguerite Valdes Madison. Growing up, he shared his childhood with two sisters, Karen and Teresa. His grandfather, Quintin Valdes, was a great influence, role model and helped raise him with his mother. David graduated in 1950 from Waukesha High School in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He furthered his education studying music at the Conservatory of Music in Kansas City, Missouri. He was an accomplished composer and sang tenor.
On April 7 , 1967 in Miami, Oklahoma, David and Georgia Elaine Powell were married. They enjoyed 51 years of life's adventures, raising five wonderful children. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
With a strong work ethic, David was skilled and gifted in a variety of areas. He was an airplane pilot, owned his own Cessna 150 and later with his wife, Georgia did custom aerial photography of the landscapes of Businesses, Shopping Centers and Offices. A man of great charisma, David worked for more than three decades as a successful salesman in the area of advertising retiring in 2015, proving age was just a number.
A man of strong faith, David was a minister of Jehovah's Witnesses for 59 years. He was currently a member of the Warsaw Spanish Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Left to cherish David's memory are his wife, Georgia, five children: Gloria Barea of Rochester, Gail Bonilla of Paterson, NJ, Kevin Madison of Abacoa, FL, Cosette Fisher of Rochester, Michael Madison of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; twelve grandchildren: Rebecca Barea, Joshua Barea, Daniel Barea, Dorian Bonilla, Garrett Madison, Chase Madison, Stuart Madison, Brielle Madison Biondo, David Fisher, Ronnie-Lea Gardner, Michael James Madison, Brittney Madison Smith; eight great-grandchildren: Alyssa Bonilla, Arianna Bonilla, Mason Bonilla, Leila Madison, Charlie Madison, Jadyn Madison, Logan Smith, Aiva Smith, two sisters: Karen Grabowski of Olathe, KS, Teresa DeWolf and husband Cyrus of Shawnee, KS, and ten nieces and nephews.
Preceding David in death was his mother, Marguerite Parker, granddaughter Serena Fisher and brother-in-law Abraham Grabowski.
Services for David James Madison will be on Saturday, September 1 , 2018 at a time yet to be determined in the Warsaw Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3191 West 200 S., Warsaw, IN. The Good Family Funeral Home of Rochester is assisting the family with arrangements.
