Connie
Grube
Feb 9, 1951 — Jan 9, 2019
Connie Sue Grube, 67, of Rochester passed away at 7:25 PM, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Parkview Hospital of Wabash.
On February 9, 1951, Connie was born to Walter F. and Louise M. Edington Grube. The oldest of four siblings, Michael, Janice, and Jerry, Connie graduated from RHS in 1969. She attended Indiana State University where she made lifelong friendships that she cherished. She loved babysitting for her niece and nephews and taking their pictures. For many years Connie was the family photographer and historian. She provided the family with hundreds of pictures through the years. Her cat, TH, was her favorite companion. Connie was an avid reader and so enjoyed the library. When she could no longer visit the library, the library came to her, bringing her a new stack of books every month. She loved listening to music, especially her old favorite, Andy Williams. Connie moved to Logansport after working at Hart Shaffer and Marx for 15 years, then on to Winamac. Most recently she was a resident of Vernon Health and Rehabilitation in Wabash.
Connie will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Louise M. Grube, of North Manchester; sister, Janice Sawyer and husband Tom of Rochester; a brother, Jerry Grube and wife Mary of Rochester; nephews: Shannon (Laurie) Grube of Akron, Jason (Angie) Grube and Jeremy (Abby) Grube of Mint Hill NC, Nathan (Dana) Sawyer of Chicago; Elliot (Stacy) Allen of Noblesville, and Patrick (Jill) Allen, Timnath, CO; nieces: Leah (Ben) Sawyer Wolfgram, Philadelphia and Courtney (Andy) Kretcheck of Beech Grove; several great nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding Connie in death are her father and brother Michael Grube in 2000.
Pastor Kerry O'Brien will officiate services. Private family interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
