Colleen M. King, 65, of Grass Creek passed away on Sunday, January 8 , 2023 at her residence.
On March 24 , 1957, Colleen Marie was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Patrick and Charlotte Werner McGovern. Growing up she shared her childhood with four sisters and two brothers. Proudly she graduated with the Class of 1975 from Proctor High School in Proctor, MN.
Colleen and Richard 'Rick" King were married in a country ceremony on October 12 , 1984 in Saginaw, Minnesota. They have shared 38 years of life's adventures.
Colleen was an office manager for Cardinal Services of Rochester,
Weekly game night was on Wednesday , Colleen loved to play board games and Yahtzee. As an avid reader, mysteries and love stories were her favorite. She also enjoyed watching CSI and the ID Channel. Colleen loved country music but she enjoyed going to all concerts. Most of all, Grandma cherished the time with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish the memories of Colleen are her husband, Rick; daughter, Angela King and fiancée David Niver of Logansport; son Daniel "Dan" Harder and fiancée Cathryn Frank of Logansport; nine grandchildren: Mallory, Patience, Caydan, Carsyn, Duke, Della, Andrew, Gabriel, Autumn; four sisters: Beverly Bailey of Massillon, OH, Karen Hedman and husband Bill of Cloquet, MN, Sandra McGovern of Duluth, MN, Brenda Chadwick of Brockton, MA; sister-in-law, Joyanne Kelley; brother-in-law Timothy King; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Colleen in death are her parents; grandson Tayvin; two brothers: Timothy McGovern and Richard McGovern.
A celebration of the life of Colleen Marie King will be at 1:00 PM Friday, January 13 , 2023 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18 th St., Rochester. Pastor David Sommers will officiate. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service in the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Grass Creek Cemetery.
