Obituary

Mrs. Colleen DeCrow, 61, of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 6th, at her residence. Born in Buffalo, NY, on June 17, 1952, Colleen was the cherished daughter of Donald and Annette Quimby Walsh. As one of three children, growing up she shared her childhood with a sister Susan and a brother Daniel. With great pride Colleen graduated with her class in 1971 from Maryvale High School in Cheektowagu, NY. She attended the University of Buffalo and graduated with a degree in business. After college she accepted a position with Xerox Corporation. Back in 1998, in Denver, Colorado, Colleen met the love of her life Daniel J. DeCrow. They moved to Fulton County in 2003, where they bought a small farm near Fulton. As best friends, on January 24, 2011, in Rochester, Colleen and Daniel J. DeCrow were married. An avid gardener, each spring Colleen planted flowers to add color to the landscape of her home. She never found a weed she couldn't pull. Colleen enjoyed feeding the hummingbird's and observing birds and wildlife found outside her home. In addition to the flowers, she had a rock garden and cactus garden to accent her backyard. As a master quilter, she was a member of Deborah's Quilting Class. Known to many as an extraordinary cook, Colleen showcased her talents at the local downtown pub, the Dugout. Left to cherish Colleen's memory are her husband Daniel J. DeCrow; three children: Shawn (John) Smith, Nicole (John) Jenkins, Joshua Becht; step-daughter-in-law Mary Kay DeCrow; a sister Susan (Steven) Wautlet; a brother Daniel M. Walsh; seven grandchildren: Sara, Zackery, Haley, Heavenleigh, Hanna, Little John, Kylah; 2 great-grandchildren: Kendall and Adriana; and a sister-in-law Debbie (Mike) Whittington. Preceding Colleen in death are her parents, and a step-son SSG Justin M. DeCrow on November 5, 2009. Click Here To Visit Our Gift Shop, "Tributes and Treasures"
