Obituary

Christine "Tina" Allen went home to be with her Lord on August 20. She was born Christine Carol Clingler on December 16, 1966 and brought home from the hospital in a Christmas stocking symbolizing the wonderful gift she was to her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her home was always Delong, Indiana where she was daughter to her daddy, Melvin, who is with her now in heaven, and her mother, Joann, who resides in Tippecanoe, Indiana. She was sis to her two protective older brothers Gary and Bill and later also to their wives. Though a member of Plymouth Baptist Church in later years, she spent most of her life worshipping at the Delong Gospel Lighthouse Church where she met the boy who was to be her friend and husband. They were eventually married on June 16, 1984 and she became wife to Alan Allen. In 1986 she became mom to her beautiful redheaded baby girl, Autumn, and seven years later to her precious boy, Austin. In 2007 Tina happily became mother-in-law to Nathan Adams when he married Autumn. As wife and mother she filled the home with love, joy, peace and goodness and was deeply loved by those who had the privilege to share their life with her. Through her childhood and early adulthood she became piano and flute student to her teacher, mentor, and friend, Vera Singer Wickline. Through this endeavor she became a graduate of the National Piano Guild and an accomplished pianist blessing many people with her delicate touch on the piano and beautiful music she produced. She had a lovely alto voice and would often sing with her husband and family at home, church, or in other public settings. She became teacher to many piano and flute students who benefited not only from her wonderful teaching style and ability, but also from the Christ-like character she exemplified. She was aunt to numerous nephews and nieces who loved her dearly, cherished in-law to her family through marriage, friend to many who had developed close relationships with her, and caregiver to many stray cats through the years who would benefit from her sympathetic and tender heart. At ten years old she became a child of the God who gave her life by believing in the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. She loved and trusted the Lord faithfully and was dedicated to fulfilling His purpose for her life. She proclaimed and demonstrated God's goodness even in her courageous battle with cancer and is now resting in His loving arms. We will see you soon. Tina is lovingly remembered by her husband of 27 years, Alan Allen, at home; daughter, Autumn Adams and husband Nathan, Houston, TX; son, Austin Allen, at home; mother, Joanna Clingler of Tippecanoe; brothers, William Clingler and his wife Michelle of Culver, Gary Clingler and his wife Synthia of Rochester; and father-in-law, Rev. G. Floyd Allen, Delong. Preceding her in death is her father, Melvin Clingler in 1995. A celebration of the life of Christine "Tina" Carol Allen will be held at noon E.S.T. Wednesday, at the Delong Gospel Lighthouse Church, Delong with the Rev. Doug Jividen & Rev G. Floyd Allen officiating. Friends may visit with her family from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. E.S. T.
