Catherine Brubaker, age 94, of Rochester, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. Born in Rochester on June 27, 1918, Catherine was the daughter of Estel and Glennie Bemenderfer. Growing up she shared her childhood with a sister Marguerite and two brothers, Frederick and Ned. She was a lifetime resident of Rochester with exception to the last two years, as she moved to Berkshire Assisted Living near Indianapolis to be closer to her family. She was a loyal member of Grace United Methodist Church for more than 75 years. Catherine was a devoted volunteer, serving Woodlawn Hospital as a Grey Lady. She was a member of the Eastern Star. A favorite hobby was playing bridge for years with her friends. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Cathy Wilkinson, and husband Gary, of Carmel; her four grandchildren: Brian Wilkinson, Scott Wilkinson and wife Kim, Kyle Wilkinson and wife Michelle and Katie Prather and husband Mike; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Ned Bemenderfer and wife Millie of South Bend; and several nieces and nephews. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Claude, who passed away in June of 2002; their son Phillip Neal Brubaker born into Heaven; a brother Frederick Bemenderfer and his wife Clare; and a sister Marguerite Engelage and her husband Robert. The Rev. Maurice Grindle will officiate services.
