Carol Sue Lahman, 77, of Rochester, passed away Saturday, February 4 , 2017 at IU Health Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis.

On February 15 , 1939, Carol was born at home in Leiters Ford to C.E.  Mike and Bernice Kline Hartz. As one of three children she shared her childhood with two brothers, Jerry and Mike.  Proudly Carol, graduated with the Class of 1957 from Aubbeenaubbee High School. Continuing her education, Carol went to Weikend Beauty College in Logansport.

On Valentine's Day in 1960, Carol and Carl "Dean" Lahman were married in Leiters Ford. They shared 45 years of life's adventures.  Together they owned and operated the Lahman Shoe Store for 15 years.  Carol also worked at the Rouch Insurance Agency. Wintering in Fort Myers, FL was enjoyed by both Carol and Dean. Sadly Dean passed away on May 9 , 2005

Carol kept busy as a volunteer at Woodlawn Hospital, Goodwill and R.S.V.P. of Rochester and The Hope Chest in Florida.

Carol will be lovingly remembered by two sons:  Bradley Lahman and wife Dena, Barry Lahman and wife Phyllis all of Rochester; four grandchildren: Tabby Harger, Kyle Lahman, Austin Sausaman, Bryce Lahman; three great grandchildren: Dawson Harger, McKenzie Lahman, Aaron Meiser; a brother: Mike Hartz and wife Gloria of Valparaiso; a sister-in-law:  Sally Andrews of Seattle, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Carol in death are her parents, husband and brother, Jerry Hartz.

Interment will be in the Leiters Ford Cemetery.
