Mrs. Carol Jean Cooper, 82, of 6600 N. 450 E. Rochester, passed away at 6:00 AM, Wednesday, February 29th, 2012 at Life Care Center. She was born in Rochester, IN on August 9, 1929, to Harley and Essie Flagg Cooper. On April 18, 1953 Jean and Virgil L. Cooper were married in Jamestown. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1996. Their union produced five children and later grandchildren and great-grandchildren were added to the family tree. Jean was the office manager for the Wilson's Corn Products in Rochester for over thirty years. She loved all sports, but IU basketball was number one. Watching Westerns was also a favorite pastime. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Tammy Cooper of Rochester; and 3 sons: Virgil Cooper and wife Cynthia of Foley, Alabama; Bob Cooper of Tippecanoe; and Rick Cooper of Mentone. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Timmy, and a brother Bobby Cooper. Chaplain Jason See will officiate services. Interment will be in the Richland Center Cemetery.
