Obituary

Mr. Carl Von Grube, Sr., 82, of Kewanna, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on April 6, 2012, at home . His wish was fulfilled as he passed from this life to the next at home where he was born and lived his entire life. Carl was born on February 12, 1930, the son of Jennings B. and Bertha F. Little Grube. As one of nine children, growing up he shared his childhood with two sisters Dorothy and Betty and six brothers Max, Rex, Walter, Allen, Paul and Eldon. On August 17, 1957, Carl married Pearl Gunter in Cass County. Their union of 54 1/2 years produced a daughter Penny and a son Von. Carl was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corp, serving during the end of the Korean War. Carl is survived by his wife Pearl, at home, a daughter, Penny Grube of Rochester, a son, Carl "Von" Grube, Jr. & wife Dawn of Apache Junction, AZ. 3 granddaughters, Gessica Mathis & husband Seth of Indianapolis, Skyler Kruse & husband Cameron of Jacksonville, NC, Britnee Grube of Moline, IL, 1 great grandson, Josiah Kruse of Jacksonville, NC and 2 more great grandchildren to arrive soon. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Betty Dunlap & husband Kenny of Fort Myers, FL., Dorothy Etchison of Noblesville and 2 brothers, Paul Grube & wife Pat of Rochester., Eldon Grube & wife Linda of Kokomo. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 4 brothers, Max, Rex, Walter & Allen Grube. Pastor John Branch will officiate services. Military rites will be conducted by the Leroy Shelton American Legion #36, the Veterans of Foreign Wars #1343 and with the Marine Corp Military rites honors unit.
