Bruce Earl Fansler, 74, of Rochester passed away at 2:22 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at  St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka.

On October 22, 1945, Bruce was born in Fulton County.  He was a treasured son of   Earl and Mary Jane Edington Fansler. Growing up he shared his childhood with an older brother Ed.  Bruce attended Rochester Schools and graduated from Rochester High School in 1963.

After his graduation, patriotism beckoned.  Bruce answered the call serving with the United States Army during the Vietnam War  from 1965 - to 1967, when he was honorably discharged.

With a strong work ethic, Bruce was a member of the US Postal Service  26 years, delivering mail through the country and persevering thru the rain, sleet and snow. Most recently he served up an amazing breakfast at Putt's Bar & Grill. He was also an accomplished mixologist blending the perfect drink as their bartender.

To relax  Bruce enjoyed cruising on his Harley- Davidson and  the freedom of the warm breezes.  He loved listening to the bands at Putt's.  Many weekend nights were spent trackside watching moto-cross competition and drag racing.  Bruce loved antiquing and Harley's.  He was a member of ABATE.

Left to cherish Bruce's memory  are a daughter, Britt Fansler  and fiance' Michael Chalk of Cromwell;  a granddaughter, Corinna Rae Chevalier; a sister, Patsy Sullivan, Fortville; special nephews and nieces: Tad Wilson, Tom Wilson,  Traci Saylors, Tammy White, Todd Fansler, Troy Fansler; Great-niece and nephew Amanda White and Jake White; and life friend Corinne & Monte Pickens, Rochester;

Preceding Bruce in death are his parents, brother Ed Fansler, great friends Eddie Guy McCollough and Dan Helt.

A celebration of the life of Bruce E. Fansler will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 26, 2020 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18 ^th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 PM on Thursday and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.  Military rites will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Army Honors Team.
