Brenda Sue Holmes, of Rochester, passed away at 3:35 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2015. She was surrounded by her loving family at Life Care Center of Rochester, just two days after her 57th birthday. On March 3, 1958, Brenda was born in Rochester a cherished daughter of Willis and Clymenia Tyler Halterman. With great Zebra pride she graduated from Rochester High School with her class in 1977. With a distinct gift of working with her hands, Brenda enjoyed crocheting and quilting. Her bedspreads were beautiful and treasured by family and special friends. Using acrylic oils and watercolors as her medium, Brenda transformed flower pots and stepping stones into garden keepsakes. Brenda is lovingly remembered by her parents: Willis and Clymenia Halterman of Rochester, a sister: Angela Condon and husband Shawn of Harvard, IL; a niece: Lyndee Mersch and husband Mark of Mercer, PA; a great niece and nephew: Isabelle Mersch and Mason Mersch; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding Brenda in death are her brother Willis Halterman Jr, in 1995, and her grandparents. Pastor David Dittman will officiate services. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
